PARENT / PLAYER NEWSLETTER –
SEPT 2ND
Chiefs, last week we fought in a battle and some of you came away with your
heads down. Some may say that we
had not wanted it bad enough or didn’t want to fight and we had given up.
I know that each and every one of you had given what you perceived was
expected of you. We must now reach
inside and find that little bit of extra heart and pride to allow us to fight
with more vigor. You are here today
for three reasons. First, because
you are here to defend yourself and team mates.
Second, you are here for your own self-respect, because you would not
want to be anywhere else. Third,
your are here because you are real Chiefs and all real Chiefs like to fight.
You are not going to lose! Losing
must not be feared. Losing, in
time, comes to everyone. Last week,
I believe we were scared to lose our first battle.
If you say you were not, then you are kidding yourselves.
Some will say they aren’t scared but say they will fight the same as
their brave team mates. The real
hero is the player who fights even though he is scared.
Some will get over their fright in a minute under fire.
For some, it takes days, weeks or months.
A real Chief will never let his fear of losing overpower his honor and
his sense of duty to his team.
You have been training to win.
Let’s go out there Sunday and defend our house and bring home a victory!
This week we will wear our Home Black Jerseys and Black Socks.
Please plan to arrive no later than the following:
Bantams:
11:30 AM
JVs: 12:45 PM
Varsity: 2:15 PM
A one call will go out to the individuals that have volunteered to help with the
concession stand and Chain Gangs during all three games.
We have a full concession staff for the Bantam Game but have no one
helping with the JV game and only one or two for the Varsity Game.
Again, this is a key fundraiser and helps us keep our registration fees
down. Please see one of the board
members to sign up for the rest of the games this year.
The due date for turning in all sold raffle tickets to be considered for the
Pizza Party Contest has expired. We
will calculate the winning division and will inform you shortly of the winners.
Please continue to sell your tickets and turn in the money as soon as
possible. The final deadline to
turn in your sold raffle tickets will be Sept. 23rd.
Again, you are responsible to sell all of your tickets.
Lastly, I want to remind all family members of our Parent Code of Conduct during
practices and games.
·
I will never ridicule or yell at my child or other participants for making a
mistake or losing a competition.
·
I will promote the emotional and physical well-being of the athletes ahead of
any personal desire I may have for my child to win.
·
I will respect the officials and their authority during competition and will not
confront coaches/officials during a game or practice.
Please adhere to these guidelines at all times
Practice next week will again be Tuesday through Thursday from 6:00 – 8:00 PM
